Speakers' Corner I
The day had finally dawned...the first event. I confess I was nervous. I travelled down from Norwich with photographer Andi Sapey, Catherine Butcher (commissions east) and my youngest son. Shortly after we left the rain began. We were ten minutes late arriving but Lisa Herron was waiting for us and all fired up to speak. She valiantly took the poidium and delivered a diatribe about the breakdown of community life and spirit in today's society. We then all retreated to the van to continue our debate which covered war, religion, global warming + some other stuff besides. No-one else had bravedthe weather!! We then all took the obligatory trip to the local transport cafe.

I remember thinking - ooh me get up on the stand and speak a few days before the event. But I gathered all my braveness and wrote a sort of bullet point script to go by.
I spoke about lack of communication amongst neighbours - Times do change but I have to make myself slow down a bit and give time to have a chat with a neighbour or someone in a shop, we do have a bad habit of rushing around, but by making a little time to have a bit of a chat with someone can make someones day - maybe your own!
That photo of me above is terrible - I look like the incredible hulk just about to bust out of my coat!
